돌핀강은 두 다리를 얻어 육지의 삶을 택한, 더 이상 바닷속에서 살 수 없는 돌고래다. 햇살 한 조각에도 감사해하며, 매 순간을 소중히 여기려 노력한다. 작가 자신을 투영한 이 캐릭터와 함께한 '서사적 캐릭터 회화' 연작 — '돌핀강의 일상기행기'는 15년 전 서울, 시간은 많고 돈은 없던 시절의 일상을 즐겨보고자 시작되었다. 여행은 멀리 떠나는 것이 아니라 매일의 삶을 낯설게 다시 보는 일이라는 것을, 챕터를 거듭하며 기록해 왔다.

Dolphin Kang is a dolphin who gained two legs and chose a life on land — one who can no longer live beneath the sea. Grateful for even a single piece of sunlight, he tries to hold each moment dear. With this character as the artist's alter ego, the narrative character painting series Dolphin Kang's Everyday Travelogue began fifteen years ago in Seoul, in a time of much time and little money, as a way of enjoying it anyway. Chapter by chapter, it has kept one quiet record: that travel is not about going far, but about seeing each day's life anew, as if it were unfamiliar.

『산책』은 2019년 우연히 길에서 만난 유기견 찰랑이와의 2년을 담았다. 비 오는 겨울 아침의 안개, 노을로 가득 찬 동네 언덕, 서로의 숨소리만 들리는 밤길. 반복되는 일상에서 처음 느낀 다른 형태의 자유로움, 그리고 누군가를 지켜야 한다는 마음이 아주 천천히 사람을 바꿔놓는 과정에 대한 기록이다. 이 기록은 2025년, 200부 한정의 책으로 엮여 그해 10월 개인전에서 관람객들에게 무료로 나누어졌다. 작지만 용맹했던 친구, 찰랑이(?-2023)를 기리며.

The Walk holds two years with Chalang, a stray dog met by chance on the street in 2019. The fog of a rainy winter morning, a neighborhood hill filled with sunset, night roads where only two breaths could be heard. It is a record of a different kind of freedom, first felt inside repetition — and of how the wish to protect someone changes a person, very slowly. In 2025, this record was bound into a limited edition of 200 books, given freely to visitors at the solo exhibition that October. In memory of a small and valiant friend, Chalang (?-2023).
