Travillust began as a way of making the moments of a journey fully my own. Just as a film, a novel, or a conversation must be chewed over and digested before one can move on — so, I found, must travel. 2009, first Europe. I wanted to hold the "first feelings" of each unfamiliar place — the thrill, the fear, the curiosity — on a single sheet of paper. The titles are always alike: Somewhere in Sligo, Somewhere in Russia, áit éigin i Sligeach. What matters is not the coordinates, but the time spent standing still there. Only two Korean places so far — both familiar, often visited: Soswaewon in Damyang and Yuseon Inn in Haenam. Soswaewon was an experiment in translating the structure of the whole garden into simple lines.
